What causes infertility in men?
Answered By Isabel Tagge
The most common cause of infertility in men is the problem encountered regarding their sperm. Either they have low sperm count compared to the normal number or they have sperm of poor characteristics. Sperms with the latter condition cannot move rapidly in the right direction or it may be abnormal in shape. Some of the conditions that may contribute to these sperm problems are:
- Under-developed testes;
- Swollen scrotum veins;
- Other infections such as gonorrhea or tuberculosis;
- Injury to the testicles; and
- Chronic prostate infections.
