How does age affect a womans ability to have children?
Answered By Isabel Tagge
Age can be a great factor in the woman's ability to have children. Many of them are still waiting to get into their 30s or 40s before they decide to have children. Statistics show that about 20 percent of American women are just having their first child after the age of 35, and about 1/3 of the couple in which the women is over that age are experiencing infertility problems.
The age affects the woman's ability to have baby in the following ways:
- As the woman gets older, the ability of her ovaries to release eggs for fertilization is declining.
- The health of the eggs released from her ovaries declines with age.
- As she gets older, the chances of miscarriage increase.
